Exercise 10 Colour cast and white balance

Colour balance . I know this is not mid day, But to find a nice pleasing setting I decided to capture and try the settings at 6. 37 am as its far cooler. there has not been much sun for a few weeks. As I have done the same exercise already , in
the Art Of Photography. This would make a more pleasing approach.

Shot of each:

  • Sun light
  • Cloudy
  • Open shade
  • Auto

Day Light
Shade
 Cloudy Weather
Auto White balance

Second part.

The colour temperature here is all quite interesting, watching how the balance  effects the scene. for an early morning that has a much bluer tint, my feelings for shade seem warmer and has a more relaxed feel. the day light and Auto, being a little truer to what I remember seeing.

Mixed lighting conditions .

A scene at dusk. In doors or out , showing the mixed lighting of day light and incandescent light. At the time when the light level of both are the same.

Shot of each :
  • Sunlight (day light)
  • Tungsten/incandescent
  • Auto
Sun light setting
 Tungsten/ incandescent.
Auto

Here , the auto and day light settings seem to not have much difference between them. The light in side, as would be taken on day light settings, is more yellow. The tungsten setting , although lit with incandescent lighting, has become paler, with the day light becoming bluer. The picture top, taken with daylight setting . The pavement  stone  renders a more magenta tint. I feel more for the Auto setting. I had used Florissant mode as well. that gave a very magenta cast.

To gain and expose for these photographs to fast thinking , to adjust the ISO for hand held photography with a speed of 30 sec on each. TV mode. The balance from day light in interior lighting, very limited on time.
